Blue skies and the alma mater of 300 million children

A SCHOOLHOUSE FOR ALL

maaaru

Education without boundaries, a great circle of smile from all over the world during the school day

UNICEF presents statistics that currently 300 million people of school age worldwide are out of school for one reason or another. This is not just a regional or national problem, but a global problem. It is the children of today who will brighten the future, the world and the planet. Borders and regional boundaries should not be the boundaries of educational standards and opportunities. We are maaaru, which provides equal educational opportunities to all children in all regions, and draws a circle that connects the world.

Problem

It had momentum at first

Wealthy people from all over the world built schools in Africa and other parts of the world, which received a great deal of media coverage and excitement

Found
many difficulties

Faced with difficulties in maintenance, within a few years they failed andsupport was abandoned

Abandoned schools

School buildings that had lost support and were in disrepair were left inAfrica and around the world

education network around the world

COOPERATION

・NPO with educational networks around the world (Terra Renaissance)
・Financial support by the Japan Endowment Foundation
・Awareness raising and networking among wealthy people in developed countries

SOLUTION

Progress

maaaru support now extends to
more than 200 schools, and its activities
are still expanding around the world

Challenge

A two-pronged approach to solving problems

Establishing new standards of education more broadly, transcending city and regional boundaries, and raising them to provide sustainable, long-term support that is rooted in the local community.
This creates model cases of local success, the creation of local leader through the teaching of educational opportunities, and the positive spiral of the next generation brought about by these allies.
